York STS Counter Balanced Smith Machine
The YORK STS Counter-Balanced Smith Machine is designed to provide the confidence of guided barbell training while maintaining a natural lifting motion. Whether you're performing squats, bench presses, shoulder presses, lunges, calf raises, or numerous accessory movements, the machine delivers smooth, consistent performance that allows users to focus on proper technique and strength development.
Built as part of YORK's Strength Training Series (STS), this machine features heavy-duty 11.5-gauge steel construction, precision linear bearings, and case-hardened guide shafts for exceptionally smooth operation. The counter-balanced bar reduces starting resistance, making the machine accessible for beginners while still offering the durability and stability required for demanding commercial facilities.

Counter-Balanced Bar System
The integrated counter-balance reduces the unloaded starting resistance, making the machine approachable for beginners, rehabilitation programs, and controlled strength progression while still supporting heavy training.
Precision Linear Bearings
The bar travels on 1½-inch case-hardened guide shafts with commercial linear bearings, producing exceptionally smooth movement throughout every repetition.
Natural 5-Degree Bar Path
Unlike perfectly vertical Smith machines, the YORK STS utilizes a 5-degree angled bar path that better matches natural lifting mechanics during pressing and squatting movements.
Adjustable Safety Stops
Movable range limiters allow users to customize stopping points for various exercises, adding an extra layer of safety while training without a spotter.
Walk-Through Design
The open frame design makes it easier to position benches and enter or exit the machine during workouts, improving overall versatility.
Commercial STS Construction
Constructed from 11.5-gauge steel, the STS Smith Machine is engineered for high-volume commercial facilities where durability and long-term performance are essential.
